Trivia
The names of the Shiny Stone and Dawn Stone may have been swapped during localization. In Japanese, the Shiny Stone and Dusk Stone are called the "Light Stone" and "Darkness Stone," respectively, suggesting they are meant to be diurnal and nocturnal counterparts. This naming pattern would make more sense if the Shiny Stone had instead been called the Dawn Stone, since dawn is the opposite of dusk. On the other hand, the Japanese name of the Dawn Stone translates to "Awakening Stone," which reflects its role in triggering special alternate Evolutions rather than fitting into a light-and-dark theme. The name "Dawn Stone" may have been chosen because dawn is naturally associated with awakening.
