Help! I've Turned into a Gengar (Japanese: ゲンガーになっちゃった！？ I Turned Into a Gangar!) is the sixth episode of POKÉTOON. It was first released in Japan on the official Pokémon Kids TV YouTube channel on September 10, 2021 and was released on Pokémon TV on July 21, 2022, and on the official English Pokémon YouTube channel on August 25, 2022.

Afterschool activities get more interesting when a mysterious Gengar stirs up some fun.

Plot

Hilary and her friends are in an empty classroom after school. Hilary is packing up her stuff, as the rest of the kids discuss the only one of their schools' 7 mysteries that they haven't seen yet, the 'Haunted Twilight Stairs'. According to one of them, the 'Haunted Twilight Stairs' consists of the final step on one of the staircases in the school, where light does not reach through the window. Apparently, when you step on it you get swallowed into a world of darkness, and if you stay too long you turn into a 'ghost'. Meanwhile, a mysterious force pulls at a charm on Hilary's phone. As the rest vote for who wants to see the mystery, Hilary stands up to reach for the now floating phone charm, and her friends confuse it for her wanting to come too. They find it is very unlike her, but nevertheless they bring her with them.

At the staircase, everyone's earlier bravery fades. Hilary is scared too, but she sees a grin in the dark above the stairs. The others misinterpret her remark, and falsely believe that she is not scared. Hiding behind her, the kids escort her up the stairs, but she hesitates right before the final steps. The last kid in he row gets licked by an invisible Gengar. This catches her off-guard, and she falls forward, causing everyone in front of her to fall as well, pushing Hilary onto the final stair. She faints and wakes up later, being called to by the other 'ghosts', that end up just being Pokémon that live there.

During the night, Hilary tries to let her friends know that it's just her, not a ghost. Sadly, her new Gengar body just makes her look scary and she ends up scaring them away.

Hilary finds out that at the end of the night, you have to leave the school before this purple goo gets you, or you will be trapped inside forever. Already behind schedule, Hilary and the ghost Pokémon hurry outside, just on time. However, Hilary's human friends are also running from the goo, and they're not fast enough. Just before they reach the part outside school grounds they fall into a hole, created by the goo. Luckily, Hilary manages to catch them with her long Gengar tongue, but she isn't strong enough, and her tongue is slippery. To her surprise her new ghost friends come to the rescue, and help her pull, so her human friends come out safely. When her friends run off out of the shadow, Hilary runs after them, says bye to her ghost friends, and as she steps out, she turns back to a human, joining her friends after their adventure.
