When a Magikarp who can't swim well loses his floatie to a passing Wingull, Haru and Psyduck fly after it on a Dragonite to try and get it back.
Plot
The episode opens with a Hoppip at the island evolving into a Skiploom.
Haru and Psyduck wake up and begin another day of working at the Pokémon Resort. While strolling through the Resort grounds, Haru encounters Alisa's Mudkip and Alisa climbing the side of a cliff in order to reach a Graveler that's secluded itself on the ledge — the Graveler had run off because it doesn't want to go home from the Resort yet, so Alisa had to get to it and persuade it to go back to its Trainer. Alisa and the Graveler went down the cliff and Alisa's Mudkip escorts the Graveler to the harbor. Haru and Alisa discuss the latter's rock-climbing skills — Alisa reveals that she did rock-climbing when she was in junior high school — and the two encounter the Skiploom that had evolved on the previous day. Haru expresses that she wants to "evolve" as well.
While feeding the Magikarp (and her Psyduck) at the Resort's river, Haru muses over what talents she might have. She notices one of the Magikarp has a star-shaped mark on its side, and it is also wearing a pool float. Tyler explains that the Magikarp is a regular patron, and that the Resort lent it the pool float since it can't swim very well. Suddenly, Panpour jumps into the river right on top of Psyduck, causing it to panic and levitate the pool float Magikarp high into the air with its psychic powers. A passing Wingull bumps into the Magikarp and accidentally takes away its pool float, leaving it to flop back down and cry. Haru gives the Magikarp for Tyler to care for as she and Psyduck chase after the Wingull to get the pool float back.
Haru and Psyduck take to the sky on the back of a Dragonite in search of the Wingull. Psyduck uses its psychic powers to dislodge the pool float from Wingull's beak and levitate it into Haru's hand, but its discomfort over flying at high speeds causes it to lose grip of the pool float. The pool float falls onto the beach and is bounced around by a Dedenne, a Seel, and a Diglett who are playing with each other. Before Haru can get the pool float back, however, the three Pokémon accidentally get the pool float beside a sleeping Snorlax, whereby the pool float is crushed when the Snorlax rolls over.
Later at night, Haru, Psyduck, and a Lampent are setting up a camp in the Resort's forest area, as concierges routinely take turns patrolling the area in case of a rambunctious wild Pokémon. Haru tries and fails to fix the pool float; however, Psyduck and Lampent went out and gathered flowers, plant parts, and various other scraps, which made Haru come up with an idea to turn the pool float into a flower wreath bouquet. Suddenly, the nearby river emits a glow, and Haru, Psyduck, and Lampent go to investigate. The glow comes from the Magikarp with the star-shaped mark, who had somehow managed to swim all the way upstream — Haru and the other Pokémon witness it evolving into Gyarados and swimming up the island's waterfall, no longer needing the pool float after all.
The next day, Bulbasaur, Eevee, and Trubbish are playing with the pool float bouquet that Haru made last night. Haru, now realizing her talent, begins to work on making pool float bouquets for the other Pokémon at the Resort to play with too.
