Psyduck suffers from chronic headaches that erupt into disruptive psychic powers. Can Haru come up with a way to help?
Plot
Haru's second day of work at the Pokémon Resort sees her struggling with tending to the Pokémon on the island — she mistakes a Metagross and a Graveler that are playing together as fighting, and she fails to stop the Furret from yesterday chasing the Rattata again. Later, she tries to look up information on Pokémon on her phone so that she can tend to them better, but she has no signal. Alisa and Tyler look on Haru from afar with bewilderment; the two discuss that the Resort island has no reception, and Alisa also tried to find any signal on her phone when she first worked on the Resort but gave up by her third day. Haru recalls Watanabe tasking her to choose a Pokémon on the island and make it feel the same way as she does, and laments that the task seems impossible. The Psyduck that Haru met in the previous episode peeks from behind a nearby bush.
Haru approaches Alisa painting a canvas tent at the Resort. Alisa asks Haru what's wrong and offers Haru to paint the tent together with her. As the two showcase their artistic skills, Alisa and Haru discuss about Watanabe's task for the latter. Haru tells Alisa that the Pokémon don't really express what makes them happy, and Alisa rebuts that the same can be said about people as well, to which Haru agrees. Suddenly, a Pidgeot crashes into the tent that Haru and Alisa had painted. Alisa suggests that the Pidgeot was letting off some steam since it wasn't able to fly freely in the big city, and tells it to play somewhere more spacious.
Later, Haru and Tyler are exercising together when she suddenly sees the Psyduck from earlier. As Psyduck retreats into the bushes, Tyler explains to Haru that the Psyduck has been under Watanabe's care at the Resort for about two weeks prior to Haru's arrival, and that it is very shy. Haru notices that the Psyduck doesn't seem to be having fun, and decides to seek for it and make it happy. Haru learns that Psyduck has a constant headache, and that its psychic powers can get out of control when the headache gets particularly intense. While Haru looks for Psyduck on one of the Resort's scooters, a Diglett suddenly pops out of the path, causing Haru to swerve and crash into Tyler's cart carrying a pot of pie fillings. Although the pie fillings are now ruined, Tyler doesn't mind as he has another batch of Berries prepared by the elemental monkeys to make a new batch of fillings.
Haru goes to help Pansear, Pansage and Panpour carry the Iapapa Berries they had gathered, but her mishap accidentally causes the Berries to fly out of the cart and roll away. Fortunately, Psyduck uses its psychic powers to gather all the Berries back into one place. Haru thanks Psyduck for helping her and realizes that it is avoidant because it is worried about its powers. While carrying the gathered Berries, Haru notices Alisa teaching her Mudkip how to water flowers, and is inspired to teach Psyduck to control its powers by using it a little at a time. Psyduck demonstrates this by splitting one of the Berries in half, to the delight of Haru and Tyler. Haru spends the rest of her day having Psyduck practice its powers while she works various jobs at the Resort. At night, Haru and Psyduck relax on the balcony of her lodging, and Psyduck accepts Haru as its partner. The two witness a shooting star in the sky, and Haru wishes to have fun with the Pokémon at the resort tomorrow too.
