Howling Shield of Eternity (Japanese: 流星にほえる赤き盾 The Red Shield Howling in the Meteor) was the eighth and final legendary event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pair Hop & Zamazenta. This pair could be teamed up with by completing the final story area of the event, Strongest Siblings.

The sync pair Sygna Suit Leon & Eternatus was also introduced in this event, which were the first sync pair capable of using Max Moves. As such, a tutorial battle for Dynamaxing was included in this event, and the "Sygna Suit Leon Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Leon & Eternatus for the duration of the event.

During this event, players could earn Legendary Prize Coins L from battles that could be used to draw items from a prize box pool. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Challenge Raihan, which could each only be challenged once per day. If the grand prize was drawn from the prize box, players could advance to the next prize pool. The grand prizes in the prize box included area info for event story areas, sync orbs for Hop & Zamazenta, 5★ Scout Tickets, Custom ★ Power-Ups for Hop & Zamazenta, a 4★ Support Move Candy, a Support Move Candy Coin, and a Tech Move Candy Coin. Extra Prize Coins were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

The player could battle using Sygna Suit Leon & Eternatus, Leon & Charizard, or Gloria & Zacian to obtain +0.6× bonus Prize Coins; Piers & Obstagoon, Marnie & Morpeko, or Raihan & Duraludon to obtain +0.4× bonus Prize Coins; and Hop & Zamazenta, Professor Sycamore & Xerneas, Clair & Kingdra, or Molayne & Dugtrio to earn +0.2× bonus Prize Coins.

This event featured a pair of challenging battles against Sygna Suit Leon, Hop, and Gloria that did not cost any stamina to play. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.

In addition, players could earn a medal for completing all the story areas in the event.

This story was added to Legendary Adventures on February 4, 2022.
