Plot

The Rising Volt Tacklers have started to explore Area Zero, with Briar as their guide. Liko, Roy, and Dot are amazed at the sights of Area Zero, from its stunning Tera Crystals and waterfalls to the Pokémon residing there.

Meanwhile, the Explorers admins Sidian and Coral are secretly spying on the group's progress, with Coral being distracted by the crystals as she throws rocks on them to make interesting noises. Sidian tells her not to get distracted but Coral ends up make a loud noise, which causes Liko, Roy, and Dot to mistake it for a Paradox Pokémon. Roy then notices something was watching his group, and out of curiosity, he goes back to check it out. He then encounters a Sandy Shocks, which Roy mistakes for an unusual-looking Magneton. Sandy Shocks suddenly attacks Roy and Crocalor, chasing the two away from their group and run past the Explorers as well.

Sidian is confused by what he saw, but Coral decides to ride on Glalie and follow Roy despite Sidian's protests. Coral loses track of Roy and accidentally steps on a Scream Tail's hair which causes it to scream loudly at Coral. Startled, Coral mistakes it for a Jigglypuff, calling it "Screamypuff" (オニプリン Onipurin), and tries to make Scream Tail move out of her way. Scream Tail refuses and a shouting contest ensues between the two, much to Scream Tail's amusement and Coral's further annoyance. The commotion from Coral and Scream Tail is enough to attract a Great Tusk from a nearby cave. It then attacks with Throat Chop, sending Scream Tail tumbling, much to Coral's amusement. Scream Tail and Coral argue again before Great Tusk uses Scary Face on Scream Tail and Glalie. Coral prepares to fight Great Tusk with Glalie, telling Scream Tail to stand back and watch. Meanwhile, Roy has gotten tired of Sandy Shocks chasing him and orders Crocalor to use Flame Charge, unaware that Sandy Shocks is part Ground-type, making the attack less effective than expected. Sandy Shocks continues to chase and attack the two as the fight escalates.

Meanwhile, Coral has Glalie fight Great Tusk, with Glalie using Blizzard on Great Tusk to partially freeze it in place. Scream Tail, moved by Coral and Glalie's bravery, retaliates with a Boomburst, prompting Great Tusk to attack it with another Throat Chop, rendering it unable to use sound-based moves for a while. Glalie then uses Ice Spinner while Great Tusk uses Rollout. Both Pokémon clash violently in an even exchange, with Scream Tail watching in awe. Coral then commands Glalie to use Crunch on Great Tusk, while Scream Tail surprisingly follows suit with a Crunch of its own, impressing Coral and restraining Great Tusk briefly before it shakes both Pokémon off.

Coral then tries to finish the fight by ordering Glalie to Self-Destruct, but Glalie's attack is suddenly interrupted by Scream Tail's Boomburst, allowing Great Tusk to move Glalie closer to Coral and Scream Tail. This causes the resulting explosion to engulf everyone, sending Coral, Glalie, and Scream Tail flying off into the distance. Meanwhile, Roy finally manages to get the upper hand against Sandy Shocks, with Crocalor eventually overpowering and defeating it with Flamethrower. Roy is impressed by Sandy Shocks and tells it that he looks forward to battling it again. As he and Crocalor leave while singing, Sandy Shocks mimics their singing and walks away in amusement.

Meanwhile, Coral, Glalie, and Scream Tail recover from the explosion, with Coral praising Glalie for its hard work, but only giving Scream Tail a backhanded compliment. Upset at the difference in praise, Scream Tail attempts to voice its displeasure and desire to be treated the same way, but Coral does not understand its rambling, labeling it as "total nonsense", thus causing Scream Tail to throw another tantrum. Coral becomes so fed up that she tries to throw whatever is next to her to silence it, unintentionally catching Scream Tail in a Poké Ball, leaving both her and Glalie shocked. Roy eventually reunites with Liko and Dot who were wondering where he has been. He explains his encounter battling a strange Magneton with hair, confusing Liko and Dot.

Elsewhere, Coral manages to reunite with Sidian, showing off her newly captured Scream Tail who she officially dubs "Screamypuff". Scream Tail continues to scream out loud again much to Coral's annoyance and Sidian's confusion. Scream Tail's cries are so loud, Liko, Roy, and Dot hear it from their group's campsite, with Briar explaining the cries are those of a Scream Tail before falling asleep. Coral's Scream Tail then continues to scream loudly into the night.
