History

Tinkatink's original hammer

Tinkaton debuted as a Tinkatink in Tinkatink's Ideal Hammer as a wild Pokémon living in Steelbound Town, being chastised by a worker for trying to use his iron to build a new hammer for herself. When Dot returned the hammer that she'd dropped, Tinkatink noticed Dot's newly-bought mic and began bashing it in order to build a hammer, and Dot decided to let her keep it before leaving. After finishing it, Tinkatink decided to show her work to Dot and climbed aboard the Brave Olivine. Unfortunately, the crew's iron had all been devoured by an unknown Pokémon, and once Tinkatink's presence became known, they immediately accused her of doing so, despite Dot's protests. After a wild chase, Dot defended Tinkatink, being backed by Friede, who remarked that eating iron isn't typical of Tinkatink's species, and proceeds to reveal the real culprit: an Orthworm.

Tinkatink joining Dot's team

After Orthworm stole the hammer she worked so hard on, Tinkatink, Dot, and Quaxly immediately chased after it. Heading to the desert, Dot decided to use the environment to her advantage, ordering Quaxly to trap Orthworm with Water Gun, making the sand wet to prevent Orthworm from escaping since its species are known to rust easily when in contact with water. Seeing an opening, Tinkatink charged towards the Earthworm Pokémon and bashed its head with her hammer, knocking it out, and retrieving her precious hammer in the process. Afterwards, Dot and the Rising Volt Tacklers were ready to leave, but a tearful Tinkatink was hesitant to be left behind, and thanks to Quaxly's encouragement, Dot caught Tinkatink. She then participated in Nidothing's newest video, where she disrupted by getting fixated on the zipper of her costume and trying to remove it, almost exposing Dot's identity before Quaxly shut down the live stream.

In A Wild Mom Appears!, Tinkatink was causing trouble for Dot by running around the Brave Olivine in a hurry, which was soon revealed to be her desire to enter the airship's kitchen. When Murdock opened the door, she rushed inside and stole one of his frying pans in an attempt to make a hammer out of it. She was chased by Dot, Murdock, Liko, and Roy, as well as their Pokémon, all the way to the ship's battlefield, where Tinkatink bumped into Terapagos, causing her to be sent flying, but was saved by Franka's Lycanroc. She and Quaxly later comforted Dot after her mother tried to bring her back home, and subsequently watched Quaxly's battle with Lycanroc, and hugged him following his victory over the Wolf Pokémon.

In The Plan to Capture Rayquaza, Tinkatink and Quaxly encouraged Dot to help Liko and Roy prevent the Explorers from luring the Black Rayquaza to them by deactivating their generator. Once they reached the lighthouse in which the Explorers were at, Tinkatink and Quaxly battled against Chalce's Medicham, distracting them both long enough for Dot to insert her Rotom Phone into the generator and deactivate it. Afterwards, Tinkatink began crying due to the scary situation and was promptly recalled as a result.

In Food Fit for a Kingambit!, when Dot, Liko and Roy went to eat at the Anything Goes Café, Tinkatink saw the restaurant's owners arguing over cleaning a grill, which caught her attention, though she was halted by the sudden, booming yell by the restaurant's Kingambit. While they were eating and the owners, Nandy and Mokichi explaining their latest dish, Tinkatink snuck out and destroyed the grill, resulting in the trio having to work with the owners for a day to repay for the destroyed grill.

Tinkatink with her new hammer

In Dance, Quaxly! The Blue Medali Step!, Dot used Tinkatink in her first official battle, where she went up against Larry and his Dudunsparce. She was able to make use of her hammer to protect her eyes and stop Glare from paralyzing her. She and Dudunsparce then spun against each other like tops from using Brutal Swing and Hyper Drill. As she wound up to try again, Larry recalled the Land Snake Pokémon for Staraptor. Her attack missed, and she was defeated by Wing Attack.

In Tinkatink's Hammer Wasn't Made in a Day, Tinkatink found pieces of scrap iron while scaling the Infernal Pass with her Trainer and started fashioning an iron plate into a new piece for her hammer. Her work was disrupted, however, by a Bombirdier stealing the plate, causing Tinkatink to desperately chase after it to get it back. She eventually retrieved the plate from Bombirdier's nest and resumed her work while Dot fought the first Bombirdier, which had just Terastallized, and a second one, which had showed up to help the first one. After finishing upgrading her hammer, Tinkatink found herself unable to lift it due to its increased weight. Out of desperation to help her Trainer, though, she succeeded in lifting it and promptly evolved into Tinkatuff. Now using her new hammer with ease thanks to her increased strength, Tinkatuff helped Dot to defeat the two Bombirdier while also showcasing her new move, Play Rough. Later, Tinkatuff displayed interest in continuing to increase her hammer's size, which Dot was happy to see.

In Beyond the Shining Rainbow, Tinkatuff joined the fight against Black Rayquaza but was ultimately defeated.

In HZ097, Tinkatuff was used by Dot to battle a Laquium-enhanced Stunfisk after Quaxwell was defeated by it. During the battle, she learned Metal Claw, Terastallized for the first time, and managed to defeat her opponent as a result.

In HZ109, Tinkatuff was working on upgrading her hammer. After missing out on getting the right type of scrap metal at a junkyard, she was depressed, Tinkatuff then impulsively leapt out of the Brave Olivine to follow a truck bearing the metal she was interested in. She then spotted a Corviknight Taxi ahead and immediately launched a stone to knock it down in order to collect its metallic feathers. After encountering Coral and Sidian, Tinkatuff reunited with Dot, who along with Quaxwell and Gimmighoul helped to fend off the two Explorers while she worked on her hammer. Tinkatuff then completed her hammer and evolved into Tinkaton, who defeated Glalie and caused the admins to retreat.

Personality and characteristics

Tinkaton and Dot

True to her species, Tinkaton, even while she was a Tinkatink and Tinkatuff, creates her own hammer using iron scraps, remaking it as many times as she wants until she is satisfied. When Dot allowed her to use the latter's microphone as a basis to build a new hammer, Tinkaton, as a Tinkatink, became determined to show Dot her hard work, and seemed rather protective and fond of her hammer, not allowing Fuecoco to even touch it. She also seems quite easily scared, being startled by everyone on the Brave Olivine, except for Dot and Quaxly. At the same time, Tinkatink does have a more courageous side, charging towards an Orthworm that had stolen her hammer, being just as determined as Dot to recover it. Her courage is also shown when she battles the Explorers in The Plan to Capture Rayquaza.

Her natural obsessive love for iron occasionally overrides her common sense and impulse control, as she attempted to take Nidothing's metal zipper in order to make a hammer out of it, nearly exposing her Trainer's identity to her viewers, and left the Brave Olivine on her own accord to find more material for her hammer. Tinkatink's love for iron is quite obsessive, and she often attempts to make hammers out of any piece of metal she can find, such as Murdock's frying pans. She even left her Poké Ball by herself in Sparkle! The Glow of Flame and Art, due to there being tons of iron materials lying around for use during the annual Artazon Art Festival, much to her excitement. It seems that her immediate instinct is to turn iron she finds into hammers, likely to hone her blacksmith skills. She also has quite the hyperactive personality, often seen running around despite Dot's pleas for her to calm down and rarely being able to sit still, as seen in Farewell, Sprigatito? and A Wild Mom Appears!. Tinkatink also has the tendency to burst into tears whenever she feels upset or overwhelmed, seen in A Wild Mom Appears! when she began crying when she couldn't open the Brave Olivine's kitchen door. In Tinkatink's Hammer Wasn't Made in a Day, it is shown that when Tinkatuff is focusing on upgrading her hammer, she tunes out everything around her to concentrate on her work.

Tinkatuff and Quaxwell

Dot and Tinkaton, while she was a Tinkatink, quickly bonded after meeting each other, as she became unwilling to leave her when she attempted to say goodbye to her. Because of her childish nature, Dot was initally worried about how Tinkatink would perform in her first official Pokémon battle against Larry. But with help from Dot's strategies, Tinkatink was able to counter Larry's Dudunsparce's Glare and Hyper Drill, forcing Larry to recall it. Tinkatuff does her best to please Dot and gives her all for her no matter what, even in Pokémon battles. In addition, Tinkatuff picked up Dot's sweet tooth and enjoys eating them.

Tinkaton and Gimmighoul

Tinkaton is quite close to Quaxwell, as their bond was formed when both were still unevolved and the Duckling Pokémon encouraged her and Dot to stay together. Following Quaxly's battle against Franka's Lycanroc, Tinkatink was overjoyed with her friend's victory and rushed into a celebrational hug. They also seemed to have quickly developed a sibling-like bond, as she looks up to him like a big brother, briefly shown in A Challenge from the Explorers, where Tinkatink, with the help of Terapagos and Ludlow's Quagsire, brought back Pecha Berries for her and Quaxly to eat since Dot was still busy. This was shown again in Put Your Heart Into It!, where Tinkatink was sad after she finished her cake too fast and Quaxly happily gave her the rest of his. She and Quaxly would also both worry about Dot and even encourage her, as seen in The Plan to Capture Rayquaza. This shared bond continues after they both evolved at different points.

Tinkaton finds Gimmighoul annoying when it would take control of her, Dot and Quaxwell into collecting coins for it. However, Tinkaton quickly accepted Gimmighoul as her teammate and befriended it. Tinkaton treats Gimmighoul like a younger sibling, as she helped defend it against a wild Scrafty and return its coins, thus building a closer bond with it.

After her Evolution, Tinkaton has since become more powerful and confident in battle, no longer being the fearful crybaby she used to be. While she has gained the strength to wield her newly forged hammer in battle, she appears to have trouble moving fast or keeping it upright due to its size and weight.
