The Migrator Cape or Veteran Cape is a cape that was given to players who migrated their Mojang accounts (used for Minecraft: Java Edition) to Microsoft accounts.

Obtaining

Players who bought Minecraft: Java Edition before December 1, 2020 got this cape when migrating their account.

The cape was first given out around July 9, 2021 and could be obtained until the end of the migration period on September 19, 2023.

• Instead of migrators capes, players who migrated were were originally supposed to received veteran capes. Players would have received a different veteran cape "for each year [they] have played Java Edition".^[7][8] At the end of the migration process, veteran capes were jokingly stated to be "a lie" by a Mojang employee.^[9] In 2025, Marc Watson explained that veteran capes were scrapped due to technical limitations.^[10]
