After choking The Beast and throwing him against a wall, The Great Hog summons The Seer to their map table. She calls out four piglin runts to bring her the core of a beacon, which she corrupts using the Orb of Dominance. The Great Hog is mesmerized by the magic she casts in the process. As a result, the core turns into that of a night beacon. The Seer orders the runts to carry the night beacon to the Overworld and place it inside a beacon container, with a runt falling inside in the process while finishing the beacon. As a result, the night beacon emits a purple beam that reaches the sun, corrupting it and causing eternal night. The Hosts assume that the piglins corrupted the ground as well as the sky, and the darkness of the sky renders the piglins even more aggressive. Fortunately, Foresight knows that the Hero is here for the rescue, and the allied units (creepers, skeletons and zombies) arrive to help the Hero.

After the Hero destroys the beacon, the full moon (which was also corrupted) is purified and quickly sets, allowing a newly pure sun to rise and subsequently make piglins overwhelmed by the morning light. A messenger piglin is startled by the event and tells the Great Hog about the newly shattered night beacon. Out of anger, the Great Hog and the all the generals batter the piglin.

Spawning

The Night Beacon base spawns in a random location after destroying three piglin outposts in the tutorial, then building the Improvement Gather Iron and destroying a fourth outpost.

Description and mechanics

Upon unlocking the Night Beacon, the sky takes a shade of dark purple, and a pink hue covers the map, showing permanent night with a purple beam on the daylight indicator. The base is reminiscent of a typical Horde of the Hunt piglin base, but it has a lava moat surrounding it with a bridge leading to a Horde of the Bastion-style gate and wall. Outside the walls, piglin pits and nether spreaders spawn. Inside the base, more structures such as blaze rod towers spawn as well. In the base, all types of regular piglin units spawn except seekers, pigmadillos, sporebacks and brutes. Units and structures common to all hordes have a Horde of the Hunt appearance. Outside the base, creepers, zombies, and skeletons spawn and follow the hero. Upon destroying the portal, the hero and their mobs are teleported to the Well of Fate and piglin bases of all three hordes start spawning.

Quotes

The piglins are using dark magic to drain the sun. If there's any hope to see the sun, the dark spell must first be broken.
