Winger Bingston, Jr.

Lieutenant junior grade Winger Bingston, Jr. was a male Human Starfleet sciences division officer who served aboard the USS Cerritos during the late 24th century.

Bingston identified himself as a "triple threat", i.e. he was a singer, actor, and dancer. (LD: "I, Excretus") In 2380, he performed his one-man show, "The United Federation of Characters", in front of the senior staff, including Captain Carol Freeman and her daughter, the newly-minted Lieutenant Beckett Mariner. (LD: "Moist Vessel")

Later that year, he was in the bar when Dr. T'Ana chastised Beckett Mariner for not taking her job seriously, then suggested that Mariner go work at Starbase 80 if she wanted to goof around. T'Ana's comment evoked an audible gasp from the bar crowd, and caused this officer to exclaim "Damn, Starbase 80?!?" (LD: "Terminal Provocations")

In 2381, Ensign Castro invited Ensign Brad Boimler to a Winger Bingston show. Boimler replied, "Now, that guy can deliver a speech. Did you ever see his one-man show where he played all of Jupiter's moons?" (LD: "The Spy Humongous")

During Shari yn Yem's training drills, Bingston ran Escape the Void, at one point having an active simulation score of 57%. (LD: "I, Excretus")

Bingston taught an acting class on the Cerritos. (LD: "Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus")

In 2382, Captain Freeman attended one of Bingston's shows where he overdramatically compared a situation that he had gotten himself into to Geordi La Forge and Ro Laren getting stuck out of phase. During the Clicket invasion of the ship, Bingston stomped on the head of one of the aliens who had been mauled by Dr. T'Ana, knocking him unconscious before the Clicket could fire his weapon. (LD: "Upper Decks")

Background information

Bingston was voiced by Eugene Cordero. [1]

His character was not specifically identified as Bingston in "Terminal Provocations", but Cordero used the same inflections he used for Bingston for the unseen voice-over.

The patronymic nature of Bingston's name implies the existence of a Winger Bingston, Sr, likely his parent.
