Vendome
Vendome was a male Bolian Starfleet command division officer who lived during the late 24th century, and served as the commanding officer of the USS Inglewood following a field promotion.
Starfleet career
USS Cerritos
During the early 2380s, Vendome served as an operations division ensign aboard the USS Cerritos under Captain Carol Freeman and regularly went on away missions.
In 2380, he was with the away team led by Commander Jack Ransom for the first away team for the second contact mission to Galardon. (LD: "Second Contact")
Later that year, he was a member of the away team that Ransom led to Gelrak V.
Vendome impaled with a spear
On that mission, Vendome was responsible for bringing the honor crystal which the Gelrakians had given to the Federation first contact team, as a token of good faith. However, because Captain Carol Freeman had eliminated buffer time on the Cerritos, Vendome accidentally brought a wooden fertility totem from Mavok Prime. The Gelrakians took great offense at this, and attacked the away team; Vendome was impaled in the shoulder with a spear. (LD: "Temporal Edict", "The Least Dangerous Game")
After the away team was captured, Vendome was among those who were in danger of being crushed by the adjudication geode, but was saved when Commander Ransom defeated the Gelrakian champion Vindor. Vendome's injuries were eventually healed and he presented the correct honor crystal to the Gelrakians alongside Lieutenant Shaxs. (LD: "Temporal Edict")
Vendome was trapped in one of the ship's conference rooms when he emerged from beneath a conference table after Parizene gas neutralized the terraforming emulsion that had began terraforming the ship. (LD: "Moist Vessel")
In early 2381, he was a member of the away team that conducted the second contact mission on Apergos. (LD: "Strange Energies")
He later participated in the training drills presented by Shari yn Yem. (LD: "I, Excretus")
Late the same year, he waited outside the Cerritos conference room in preparation for celebrating Captain Freeman's promotion to another ship. He, like the other crew members, initially cheered the captain as she came out of the room, but was shocked upon realizing that the captain had been arrested for the bombing of Pakled Planet. (LD: "First First Contact")
USS Inglewood
Captain Vendome and his bridge crew on the Inglewood
During the subsequent grounding of the Cerritos in 2381, Vendome transferred to the USS Inglewood. Mere months later, he received a field promotion to captain after the ship's former CO, Captain Chapman, was regressed to infancy by a temporal rift. Once his command was made permanent, regarded as the culmination of a "meteoric rise", he chose to staff his bridge crew entirely with Bolians.
Upon hearing that Vendome had become a captain, Brad Boimler was dismayed because he saw Vendome as a "goofball" who had gotten lucky, whereas he himself was laboring diligently to climb the ranks with little result. However, D'Vana Tendi pointed out that Vendome would volunteer for every mission he could, good and bad, and had thus opened opportunities for himself. (LD: "The Least Dangerous Game")
An image of Vendome as captain appeared among the data mined by the Scrubble and Outpost 76 scientists. (LD: "Mining The Mind's Mines")
Later that year, Vendome was contacted by Mariner after Admiral Les Buenamigo's automated Texas class starships, led by the USS Aledo went rogue and began to attack the Cerritos and nearby Douglas Station. Along with the rest of the California class, the Inglewood rushed to the defense of their sister ship, with Vendome stating that his crew was ready to "kick some ass". Shortly thereafter, the Aledo was destroyed under withering fire, and Vendome joined his crew and those of the other California class vessels in having proven the mettle of their "support ships."
