Spontaneous combustion
Spontaneous combustion was a combustion event that could be caused by beings with extraordinary abilities, such as the Q and Human espers.
In 2265, after Elizabeth Dehner defined espers as people who had "flashes of insight", Spock brought up other abilities, such as seeing through solid objects and starting fires spontaneously. When Dehner protested that nothing about ESP could make an individual dangerous, Spock claimed she was referring to normal ESP. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")
In 2369, after making contact with the feral Q, Amanda Rogers, Q asked her what kinds of Q abilities she had manifested, giving telekinesis, teleportation, and the spontaneous combustion of someone she didn't like as examples. (TNG: "True Q")
