Kindling
Using hair for kindling
Kindling was dry, dead wood used to start fires.
In 2373, recalling something his father had told him once, Chakotay used the shorn hair of several USS Voyager crewmembers as kindling. (VOY: "Basics, Part II")
In 2374, while stranded on an unknown planet with Benjamin Sisko, Gul Dukat managed to find kindling. (DS9: "Waltz")
In 2376, Tuvok reported that the townspeople of Fair Haven had begun to pile kindling around the base of three lampposts in the village square to burn members of Voyager's crew, who they suspected were spirit folk. (VOY: "Spirit Folk")
