Rubicun III

Rubicun III was the inhabited third planet of the Rubicun star system. This planet was located somewhere in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant and was located in a star cluster. Classified as M class, this was the homeworld for the Edo, a pre-warp humanoid species.

The Edo were protected by a trans-dimensional being who they worshiped as their God. Data suggested that the Edo may have been originally placed on the planet by this being. Random punishment zones were moved around on the planet's surface.

The USS Enterprise-D visited this planet after delivering Earth colonists to the neighboring Strnad solar system. (TNG: "Justice")

Beckett Mariner once stranded Brad Boimler on Rubicun III. In 2381, Boimler recalled this incident. (LD: "An Embarrassment Of Dooplers")

In both the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 2, p. 241 and the Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion, 2nd ed., p. 40, it was stated that the surface of Rubicun III was shot at the Van Nuys Japanese garden at the Tillman Water Reclamation Plant and the Huntington Library in Pasadena. The Starfleet Academy and Starfleet Headquarters scenes were also filmed at this location.
