Pie filling was any type of food, especially fruit, that was put into the interior of a pie.

When the Annual Intra Division Pie Eating Contest was about to begin on the USS Cerritos in 2381, Ensign Beckett Mariner was covered in blueberry pie filling after she was practicing for the pie eating contest. She even tracked the pie filling throughout the corridors of the ship. The previous year's pies were strawberry. (LD: "Trusted Sources")
