A pie eating contest was a recreational event in which participants competed to eat the most pies.
The USS Cerritos crew held an Annual Intra Division Pie Eating Contest, which was regarded as the "biggest crew night of the year" outside of pon farrs. As the name implied, the competing teams were from the command, operations, and sciences divisions respectively. In 2380, the pie filling was strawberry, as chosen by Captain Carol Freeman.
For the 2381 contest, the pie filling was to be blueberry. However, Freeman cancelled the event to make her ship seem more professional for visiting FNN reporter Victoria Nuzé. Ensign Beckett Mariner and her friends, who had prepared extensively, were distressed to see the pies being disposed of. (LD: "Trusted Sources")
