Phase pod

A phase pod was a type of personal phasing device. When activated, it would alter the vibrational wavelength of whatever the phase pod was attached to. In a state of being out-of-phase with the rest of the universe meant the object or wearer could not be physically affected by persons or objects vibrating at the normal frequency, though they were still supported by floors. Users would, however, be able to interact with matter altered to the same phase by another phase pod. It was possible for phase pods to malfunction, leaving the wearer trapped partly phased through objects.

Philippa Georgiou was given a phase pod by one of her clients on the Baraam and subsequently acquired another for herself. She would make use of both when attempting to steal a package from Dada Noe. Though Noe was unable to physically affect Georgiou or his case once both were phased, Georgiou could. As well as a third party, San, who was equipped with a pod of his own. (Star Trek: Section 31)
