Course (ship)

In sailing, a course was the lowest sail set on a mast, essentially the largest square sail on the bottom yard of a mast.

During the simulation of boat crew, Commander William T. Riker said, "All hands make sail! T'garns'ls and courses. Stand by the braces!". (Star Trek Generations)
