The Quantum Reactor is the most efficient Power generator crafted at the Power Station and the second-most powerful generator, outclassed only by the ultra-rare Precursor Reactor, and can output 620W at its highest capacity. It can use bio-fuels and high-end fuels such as Solarium Stars and Plutonium.
Unlike the Fission Reactor, Small and Large Fusion Reactors, this reactor emits no radiation and requires no coolant. As a consequence, it produces no Toxic Waste. However, this means it can be safely placed anywhere without having to consider side effects or worry about explosions.
Mechanics
Power produced by Quantum Reactor is a sum of two numbers:
Total power = Power from fuel + Power from heat
Power from fuel depends on the type of fuel (see #Accepted fuel below).
Power from heat is initially 0. When fuel is placed into the Quantum Reactor, the reactor starts heating up (5% per second, reaching maximum heat after 20 seconds), and its power increases as follows:
| Heat Threshold (%) | Power Output (W) |
|---|---|
| 0 | 0 |
| 5 | 5 |
| 20 | 9 |
| 30 | 12 |
| 50 | 16 |
| 70 | 20 |
If the reactor is not working, its heat level is decreased by 5% every second.
Accepted fuel
The following table will list the fuel items that the Quantum Reactor will accept. The "Maximum Power" column includes the reactor heat. The non-heat output power of a fuel source is always equal to its usage time.
