Wind Power (Ability)

Wind Power (Japanese: ふうりょくでんき Wind-Powered Electricity) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature Ability of Wattrel and Kilowattrel.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with Wind Power is hit by a wind move or when Tailwind takes effect, it becomes charged, boosting the power of the next Electric-type move it uses.

When this Ability is triggered, the message "Being hit by <move> charged <name> with power!" is displayed, even if it causes the Pokémon with Wind Power to faint. If the opposing wind move causes the Pokémon to faint, Wind Power displays the message before the Pokémon faints.

Despite being classified as a wind move, Sandstorm is the only one that does not interact with Wind Power at all.
