Unfortunate Strike (Japanese: 命中時能力ダウン Stat Reduction During Direct Hit) is a family of skills in Pokémon Masters EX.

Effect

When the Pokémon successfully lands an attack on the target, it has a chance of lowering one of the target's stats (Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, Speed, accuracy, or evasiveness) by one stat rank. If the Pokémon uses a move with the multistrike effect tag, such as Bullet Seed or Icicle Spear, each successful hit will have its own chance of lowering one of the target's stats by one stat rank. The skill can range from Unfortunate Strike 1 to Unfortunate Strike 9, with higher numbered skills resulting in a higher chance of activation after each hit. Unfortunate Strike 9 will always lower one of the target's stats by one stat rank after each hit. The skill applies to the Pokémon's usual attack moves, including buddy moves, but not sync moves or max moves.
