Sandy (Japanese: ナギサ Nagisa) is a character who appears in Magical Pokémon Journey. She makes her first appearance in the chapter Raichu's Best Friend.

History

Sandy is the ghost of a girl who had lived 150 years prior to the series. In her former life, she owned a Raichu. Sandy's parents had left Raichu in a box by the sea after it shocked someone who had hurt it. Sandy tried to rescue Raichu, but before they were able to meet, they were both killed by a tidal wave. Raichu, who remained as a ghost as well, was bitter because it thought that Sandy had abandoned it, however, with the help of Pikachu and his friends, its ghost was reunited with Sandy's and they departed for the afterlife.

Sandy and her Raichu appeared again in Heavenly Pokémon, in which the two found Eevee in limbo after his body had become possessed by the spirit of a Golduck. With Raichu, she used telepathic power to look into Golduck's soul and see that he was searching for his lost love whom he had promised to meet before passing away. She guided Eevee back into his own body, then took Golduck's soul into her hands, intending to reunite him with his lost love.

In The Miraculous Color of the Sky ~Best Friends~, she and Raichu are reincarnated as a little girl and a Pichu. They meet again in their new lives and become friends.

Character

Sandy is kind, fun loving, and loyal to her friends. She deeply treasures her friendship with Raichu, giving up her life for the chance of meeting with it after her parents had cast it into the ocean. After their deaths, Sandy persistently tried to reunite with Raichu for 150 years, even when it attempted to push her away. The deep pain she felt from being separated from Raichu has made her especially empathetic toward those experiencing similar situations, as depicted in Heavenly Pokémon, when she did everything in her power to help Eevee and Lu, as well as the violent Golduck who she saw as acting out of grief.

Despite her caring nature, she enjoys scaring people and pulling pranks, as seen in Raichu's Best Friend, when she used her ghost powers to cause blood to pour down her face.
