(Japanese: 新しい仲間!? A New Friend!?) is the seventh chapter of the Pokémon RéBURST manga.
Plot
Ryouga and Miruto are talking about how long she plans on traveling with him, when they hear shouting in the distance. Running towards them is what seems to be a Pansage, but Ryouga is shocked to hear it talking. Believing them to be a Burst Warrior and potentially one of the Great Gavel's Seven Warriors, he warns Miruto to stay back, and transforms into his Burst form. He delivers a powerful blow to the stranger, challenging them to battle, but they are revealed to be very weak, having been defeated in a single blow. Ryouga wonders if they really are just a Pansage, causing the stranger to angrily declare that they are a human that simply resembles the Pokémon.
The stranger turns to leave, but he is stopped by a pair of chefs, who it turns out were the reason he was running earlier. They tell him to pay for the food they served him, and while he attempts to sway them with a sad tale about why he can't pay, his obviously fake story is ineffective. Ryouga offers to cover the bill, but he realizes he left his wallet at home, forcing Miruto to pay instead. The man introduces himself as Yappy, a freelance journalist who exposes the truth. He promises to pay them back, as he knows where a big scoop is, and leads them to a large valley with steep cliffs. Standing at the valley's edge, Ryouga asks Yappy why they are here, only for Yappy to suddenly push Ryouga and Miruto down the cliff and into the valley below. The two are suddenly surrounded by angry Darmanitan while Yappy looks on with an ominous grin.
