Trivia
- This book contains two different copyright years, reading "© 2002" on the back cover and "© 2003" on the inside.
- On page 15, there is a word search containing the names of Electric-type Pokémon. As a reference to their type, the words "shock" and "zap" (the latter separately from Zapdos) are hidden in the word grid.
- On page 28, James's name is scrambled as "Semaj". Coincidentally, Semaj is the alias that he used while competing in the Grass Tournament in The Grass Route.
Errors
- Katherine Noll's name is misspelled as "Katherine Nolls" every time that she is mentioned.
- Hoothoot's name is misformatted as "HootHoot" every time that it is mentioned.
- On page 8, question 5 erroneously states that Azurill has a type advantage over Donphan because Water has an advantage against Ground when Azurill was instead a pure Normal-type Pokémon at the time of this book's publication. Question 6 on the same page claims that Remoraid, a Water-type Pokémon, has a type advantage over Sunflora, a Grass-type, when the reverse is true instead.
- One of the answer choices for question 6 is Typhlosion, which has a type advantage against Sunflora as a Fire-type Pokémon and therefore would be the correct answer.
- On page 9, Pokémon 4Ever - Celebi: The Voice of the Forest is misformatted as "Pokémon 4Ever, Voice of the Forest".
- On page 10, question 3 shows Azumarill's ears, but Azurill is in the word list and answer key instead.
- On pages 15, 51, and 54, Flaaffy's name is misspelled as "Flaafy".
- On page 21, Pikachu & Pichu is erroneously referred to as "Pikachu and Pichu in the City" and the Pichu Brothers are instead called the "Pichu twins".
- On page 29, Pokémon 3: The Movie - Spell of the Unown: Entei is erroneously referred to as "Pokémon the Movie 3: Spell of the Unknown" and Entei's category is misformatted as "volcano Pokémon" instead of "Volcano Pokémon".
- On page 50, Raikou's name is misspelled as "Raiku".
- On page 52, the answer for question 4 of Hidden Name Challenge highlights "to get ice" as the Pokémon hidden in the sentence, misspelling Togetic's name as "Togetice".
- On page 57, Kecleon's name is misspelled as "Kekleon".
