Lovable Numskulls (Japanese: スカした奴ら！ Those Cool Guys!) was a Trainer Files event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs Guzma & Ariados and Plumeria & Gengar.

During this event, players could earn event vouchers from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. Obtaining 3,000 vouchers would unlock the story area Alolan Wind Bringing Change. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

The player could battle using Guzma & Ariados or Plumeria & Gengar to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Guzma & Golisopod or Plumeria & Salazzle to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and any unlisted sync pairs with the Poison, Bug, or Alola theme skills to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.

First run

The event first ran from May 9 to 23, 2024. The "Guzma Variety Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Guzma & Ariados for the duration of the event, and the "Plumeria Variety Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Plumeria & Gengar starting on May 11, 2024 and lasting until the end of the event.

In this run, the type of voucher that players could earn was Event Voucher F.

Second run

The event reran from August 12 to 28, 2025. The "Double Feature Variety Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Guzma & Ariados and Plumeria & Gengar for the duration of the event.

In this run, the type of voucher that players could earn was Event Voucher J, and the amount of vouchers that could be received as battle rewards was increased. Everything else was the same as the previous run.

Plot

On a beach, Plumeria and Guzma are talking with a Team Skull Grunt who wants to leave Team Skull so he can join Team Yell and support Marnie. When Plumeria asks if he's being serious, he doubles down on his request, and the two grunts accompanying him support his decision. Guzma wants to test the grunt's commitment to his decision, so he tells the grunt that he'll have to defeat him and Plumeria if he really wants to leave Team Skull. Guzma and Plumeria send out their Ariados and Gengar, respectively. The grunt is a little scared, but he accepts the challenge, and the other grunts send out their Pokémon to battle alongside him. Guzma then warns them that he won't go easy on them.

Guzma and Plumeria's Pokémon take some hits from the grunts' Pokémon, but ultimately claim an easy victory. Although the grunt is disheartened, Guzma surprisingly tells him to go, with Plumeria reassuring the grunt that Guzma can already see that he's serious. The grunt thanks Guzma and Plumeria before leaving to fulfill his dream, leaving his friends to shed tears of happiness for him. Immediately afterwards, a Team Yell Grunt approaches them and says she wishes to quit Team Yell in favor of joining Team Skull out of admiration for Plumeria. Guzma lets her in and tells his two grunts to teach her the rules of Team Skull. While the Team Yell Grunt begins her lessons, Plumeria observes how when one story ends, another one begins.
