Light of Ruin (Japanese: はめつのひかり Light of Ruin) is a damage-dealing Fairy-type move introduced in Generation VI. It is the signature move of the Eternal Flower Floette, which has never been/is yet to be released.

Effect

Light of Ruin inflicts damage, and the user receives recoil damage equal to ½ of the damage done to the target.

Generation VIII onwards

Light of Ruin cannot be selected in a battle.

  • Even though the move cannot be used in-game, AZ's Eternal Flower Floette is seen using it during a flashback of the Kalos war.
  • In the room service minigame at Hotel Richissime, there is a food style option that selects the name of a random move, in which Light of Ruin can be mentioned. This is the only way for the move's name to be seen legitimately in any game.
  • Light of Ruin has the highest base power of all Fairy-type moves, excluding Z-Moves and Max Moves.
    • A Twinkle Tackle based on Light of Ruin has the highest base power of all Fairy-type moves.
  • Light of Ruin is the only Fairy-type move that causes recoil damage.
