Hisui first partner Pokémon

The Hisui first partner Pokémon in Pokémon the Series

The Hisui first partner Pokémon are the trio of PokémonRowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott[1]—chosen by Trainers at the start of their journey in Hisui. These are traditionally given out by Professor Laventon and are to be used to battle the first wild Pokémon that the Trainer encounters.

In official contexts, the group is referred to descriptively in several ways, including "the Hisui region’s first partner Pokémon"[1], "the Fire-type first partner Pokémon from Johto and Hisui"[2], and more.

These are currently the only first partner Pokémon whose final Evolutions have regional forms.

As first partner

In this game, the player obtains their first partner Pokémon at level 5.

Starting in the Daybreak update (V1.1.0), Rei/Akari will begin using the Sinnoh first partner Pokémon with a disadvantage to the player's initial first partner choice.

Game(s) First partner Location/Acquisition Rei/Akari uses Evolutions of:
LA Rowlet Jubilife Village: from Professor Laventon in Galaxy Hall after receiving the entry trial Piplup
Cyndaquil Turtwig
Oshawott Chimchar

Other methods

After completing the main story (by catching Origin Forme Dialga/Palkia and completing Mission 18), the Hisui first partners become more available. Professor Laventon will give the player the two first partners they did not pick, and the player can also find any of the Hisui first partners or their Evolutions in space-time distortions or massive mass outbreaks.

In The Indigo Disk DLC, the Hisui first partners can be caught in the wild at the Terarium. They are unlocked after upgrading the biomes through the League Club Room. However, in order to obtain the Hisuian forms of their final Evolution, the player must transfer the said Pokémon to Pokémon Legends: Arceus via Pokémon HOME, evolve them there and return them to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Evolving them within Scarlet and Violet will result in them evolving into their original forms instead.
