Explosive Art, Ninja's Craft (Japanese: 爆ぜる芸術　忍ぶ服飾 Explosive Art, Ninja Costume) was an Academy Founding Chapter event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs Mela & Armarouge and Atticus & Revavroom.

First run

The event first ran from January 15 to February 2, 2025. The "Mela Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Mela & Armarouge for the duration of the event, and the "Atticus Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Atticus & Revavroom starting on January 17, 2025 and lasting until the end of the event.

In this run, players could earn event points by completing battles. Players received rewards based on the number of points accumulated, including 5★ Scout Tickets, a Tech Move Candy Coin, a 5★ Power-Up, and medals. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.

The player could battle using Mela & Armarouge or Atticus & Revavroom to obtain +0.6× bonus points; Valerie & Sylveon or Mina & Granbull to obtain +0.4× bonus points; and any unlisted Paldea sync pairs to obtain +0.2× bonus points.

This run featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with one or fewer sync pairs fainting and sync pairs with specific theme skills on the team.

Second run

The event reran from March 18 to April 20, 2025 as part of the Academy Coming Soon! Read the Founding Chapter Again! event leading up to the debut of the first academy event, Pasio Academy Opening. This run only contained the story areas; the battles and event points did not return. In addition, no missions were available, and no medals could be earned.

Third run

The event reran again from August 5 to 23, 2025 as part of the Read the Founding Chapter Again! event, in conjunction with the debut of the academy event Best Buddies Program. Everything was the same as the previous run.

Atticus	Who is this "Lear" you speak of?
Eri	He's a big deal on this island!
Giacomo	That's not much of an explanation...but yeah, that about sums him up.
Penny	Maybe you two could help design the uniforms? We already have some pros working on them, but maybe you could join.
Giacomo	Sounds great! Atticus designed Team Star's costumes, so he'd be perfect for the job!
Eri	Yeah! And Mela's a member of the art club, so it should be a good fit for her, too!
Atticus	Hmm...that indeed stirs my interest.
Mela	...I think I'll pass. I only just joined the art club, and I'm not that great at painting, so... I'd probably get just in Atticus's way.
Atticus	What nonsense is this?! Your passion for painting is sincere, is it not? But I shall not push thee—such a choice is thine to make. Shouldst thou find thyself inclined to join, do come and tell me.

Mela	(The closer I look at Pasio, the more I notice it's buzzin' with unique characters.) (I bet they all have some dream or passion.)
???	Hey, you all right?
(Hop approaches Mela)
Hop	You look a bit down.
Mela	Who are you s'posed to be?
Hop	I'm Hop—a Trainer from Galar!
Mela	Well, I'm Mela. I just came from Paldea.
Hop	Did something happen? Happy to help if I can!
Mela	...So then, Mina asked me to show her something I've painted, and I just couldn't. I suddenly got so scared. I felt like...if I got criticized for somethin' I really like, I might never get over it. I used to be jealous of people with dreams. But I kinda realized it's tough to face somethin' you're passionate about. So now I've even more respect for Atticus. Y'know, these boots are what got me into painting in the first place.
(Hop thinks for a moment)
Hop	Well... I also have a dream: to become a Pokémon professor. Before that, I wanted to be a Champion. But I couldn't—that dream didn't come true.
Mela	Oh...
Hop	But it's not like I just settled for becoming a Pokémon professor. One dream didn't work out, so I found a new one. So don't be scared! If a dream doesn't work out, it doesn't mean it's all over. Roxie	Sometimes you gotta embrace spontaneity and let ideas flow!

Roxie	For real—there are so many spontaneous people in the world! Like...my old man, who's a ship captain. He couldn't give up his dream of being a movie star. One time, he even ditched work to go act.

Atticus	I presented my uniform designs to Lady Valerie.
(Mela is surprised, and she and Atticus turns towards each other)
Atticus	She said she would weave in any good ideas. Yet it seems none were deemed good enough to be adopted as they were.
Mela	Wow. Seriously?
Atticus	Yes. It did not unfold as I had hoped. My designs are an expression of all the things I love. But the school uniform is for everyone. What the creator cherishes is of import, yet that alone is not enough...or so I was told.
Mela	Wow. So even you feel like this sometimes.
Atticus	Of course! I, too, am human...yet I shall not abandon my quest! I will bring forth new designs for Valerie tomorrow and hope she approves them!
(Mela thinks for a moment)
Mela	I'll join you, Atticus. I'm gonna show Mina a painting of mine, and I won't run away this time.
Atticus	Lady Mela... Splendid! I shall be strengthened in spirit if thou comest with me!

Burgh	Oh, but when it comes to using color... if you add a touch of black here, it tightens the overall tone, even if the color wasn't actually in the scenery.
Mina	What you see with your eyes isn't the only truth. You should paint what feels right!
Mela	I-I see!
Valerie	Your painting looks nice, Mela.
Atticus	Indeed, 'tis a truly splendid painting. So bold, yet there be a hint of familiarity. Aha! I have it now! Lady Valerie, my sincerest apologies, but may I ask you to wait a little longer?
