Ancient (Japanese: 古代Ancient) is a category of cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game first introduced in the Paradox Rift expansion, mainly revolving around the ancient Paradox Pokémon. Ancient cards are available as Pokémon and Trainer cards, and are the counterpart of Future cards.

Ancient cards are primarily based on the ancient Paradox Pokémon from the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games, and were first introduced in the Paradox Rift expansion (the Japanese Ancient Roar expansion) — Paradox Pokémon cards released in previous expansions are not categorized as Ancient cards. Ancient cards are distinguished by a stony Ancient label superimposed on the top right corner of the card art, and a layered strata background adorning the entire right half of the card. Ancient Pokémon cards tend to have direct attacks that deal a large amount of damage, while being difficult to Knock Out. Certain attacks, Abilities, and Trainer cards interact specifically with Ancient cards.
Ancient cards can be considered a spiritual successor to the Single Strike style category of cards from the Sword & Shield series.
