The enchanted flint and steel (alternatively said as glowing flint and steel or portal key) is a flint and steel with an unknown enchantment. It can create three-block-high columns of corresponding colored fire and activate Overworld portals.
History

It was created by the Old Builders in the past to activate portals to different dimensions.
The blue flint and steel can not be seen in the Order Hall in Season Two as it was taken by Ivor in A Journey's End?.
Properties
When struck, it can activate Overworld portals or create unique three-block-high flames matching its color.

Trivia
- In Order Up!, Jesse will always find the enchanted flint and steel inside the temple of the Old Builders, regardless of which chest they choose to open.
- In Minecraft, it is possible to enchant regular flint and steel with the Unbreaking and Mending enchantments; however, as mentioned by Olivia, the enchantment is neither of those enchantments.
- It was confirmed by Hadrian (determinant) that the Old Builders own chests full of enchanted flint and steel.
- In the 1.16 Nether Update for Minecraft, soul fire bears a resemblance to the enchanted flint & steel's fire. This is most likely just a coincidence.
