Summary
Tails' Lab
The map begins inside of a garage, with the player facing a NPC, teaching the player to build momentum by sprinting. Beside that is Omochao, who gives advice on performance issues, links to the bug tracker, and offers the options to help with time-based achievements and clear the Lab of decorations. Behind the sign is a large generator, surrounded by scraps, nuts, bolts, crates, toolboxes, and cardboard boxes, and behind Omochao is a TV screen with credits for the map. Circling the room are a mini obstacle course, lined with game elements and additional tutorials.
At the very start is a tutorial on collecting rings, followed by an explanation on how rings are lost. Proceeding from there are small pits lined with spikes, above them notices for Gamemode One's social media, including their support again. Jumping over the spikes will lead to a spring, which can elevate the player to a tutorial on jumping on enemies beside beacons. Below is a live Moto-bug, patrolling back and forth for the player to test fighting enemies, at the end a TV containing several rings. Passing by several rings will lead to a final screen, teaching the player to spin dash, with a breakable wall nearby to test it on.
Breaking through the wall reveals the rest of the Lab, introduced shrouded in darkness with flickering lights. Dropping down will activate the Warp Rings, which lead to the levels and begin lightening the room. Throughout the rest of the room are similar triggers, marked by a light ring, which will progressively reveal the utilities of the area. In the center of the room is a container of the Chaos Emeralds, which is filled up as progress is made finding them. In front of Green Hill is the achievement board, tracking 16 different achievements, and behind that is the Tornado 2 be, beside a lectern listing patch notes. Right of the Tornado 2 is a spring up to a second layer of the Lab, approaching it opening a door into an area dedicated to Labyrinth Zone. Behind the spring is a storage area filled with props, with a light trigger bringing attention to a painting of a Chao Garden.
On the second floor of the Lab, a light trigger will be activated, identifying the spot as the "Comfort Zone." In this area, the player can select to play as any of the playable characters. Behind the first trigger is another, referring to a jukebox that allows the player to change the song in the Lab. From here the player has activated all the lights, and can freely play the game. Also in the Comfort Zone is Tails' Computer.

Trivia
- In Green Hill Zone, the totem poles have appear to be the face of villagers carved into them.[1] Notably, the face appears to be modeled after their pre-Texture Update design.
- Many characters and items from the Sonic series make cameo appearances inside the Lab.
- Behind the Tornado 2 are Cubot and Orbot, frequent sidekicks to Doctor Eggman, as well as the Gray, Black, Purple, Pink, and Magenta Wisps. Between the Wisps is a painting of a creeper.
- Behind Knuckles in the Comfort Zone are a white wisp and a hat, commonly associated with Knuckles due to its appearance in the 1996 OVA and 2024 Knuckles series.
- Beside Sonic and the jukebox are chairs shaped like chili dogs, commonly regarded as Sonic's favorite food due to their prominence in the "SatAM" and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. Behind him is a painting of Angel Island rising at the end of Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
- Beside the coach Amy is sitting on is the Long Hammer, an upgrade of her traditional Piko Piko Hammer appearing in Sonic Adventure. Behind her are a painting of the Death Egg, and Caliburn, as it appeared in Sonic and the Black Knight.
- Behind Tails in the Comfort Zone is a large bookshelf, containing many objects. At the bottom is a Sega Genesis, the game console Sonic first appeared on, hooked up to a TV. On the second shelf are several copies of Sonic & Knuckles, the Shovel Claws, and Crystal Rings. On the third shelf are the gauntlet worn in Sonic and the Black Knight, and what appear to be the Jet Anklets. On the top shelf is what appears to be a 1-Up, but is actually several issues of a Sonic book series, next to a creeper plush and item capsule.
- In the Comfort Zone is a treadmill machine, seemingly based on Sonic Athletics.
- Underneath the Comfort Zone are many items and characters. Beside the garage switch are Orange, Red, and Cyan wisps. Across from them on crates are the Jade wisp and a model of the Speed Star. Across from there on shelves are the Indigo, Green, Blue, and Violent wisps, as well as Froggy and the Tails Doll. Finally, there are several Chaos Drives on a Chao Container, Crimson and Ivory wisps, Erazor Djinn's magic lamp, stacks of sun and moon medals, and the Blue Star as it appeared in Sonic Free Riders.
- Next to the Welcome to Labyrinth Zone terminal are the Dark Rider, and the head of Heavy Gunner. On a nearby shelf are the Professional, a skateboard that appeared in Sonic Generations, a nonspecific snowboard, the Wall Jump Shoes, Stomping Shoes, and Air Boost Shoes.
- In the Labyrinth Zone section are several paintings referencing the Sonic film series. On the left wall is one featuring Tom, Sonic, and Maddie, beside a Drone and the head of the Heavy King. On the opposite side of the room is Sonic in front of the moon, referencing the "Blue Justice" opening scene of the second movie, beside the head of the Heavy Magician.
- On Tails' Ancient Computer are several gems, as well as a Red Star Ring.
- Near the front of the Labyrinth Zone entrance is the Tornado, beside it the Bounce Bracelet, Rhythm Badge, Flame Ring, Warrior Feather, Hammer Gloves, sunglasses, the head of Heavy Shinobi, and Bomb from Knuckles Chaotix.
- Clicking on the Tornadoes will allow the player to interact with them. The original Tornado will shake and spin its propellers, while the Tornado 2 can be ridden, briefly levitating into the air and turning into its jet mode.
- In April 2025, Gamemode One released a joke responding to a larger April Fools joke by SEGA, announcing that Tails would be renamed to Kilometres in the map.[2][3]
