An adventure chest was a block-like entity in Minecraft Earth that could be found in adventures, which had 4 variants plus one unused variant.

Spawning

In some adventures, the chest would generate with the adventure, but in others the players would have to either solve a puzzle or kill all the hostile mobs in the level for it to appear. The chest wasn't always immediately visible, so players may have had to mine in the adventure in order to uncover it. Hitting it would give all participating players a number of rare items. There were 4 types of adventure chests, with each type having a different rarity, and with rarer types containing more valuable items.

Behavior

Adventure chests remain stationary and emit smoke-like particles. Their collision box is solid, similar to shulkers from the main game and regular blocks. When hit, they emit star-shaped and green hexagon particles.

A legendary adventure chest was a variant of the adventure chest which was added in 0.11.0, but remained only in the game files and had no functionality in the future. Legendary adventure chests never spawned naturally in-game.
