Vermont was a region located on the Atlantic coast of the North American continent of Earth. This was a state in the United States of America. It bordered the states of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York, and the country of Canada. (DS9: "Little Green Men"; ENT: "Storm Front", "Storm Front, Part II")

The locales of Vermont included the city of Montpelier and The Archeology Department. (SNW: "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow")

In an alternate timeline in which Nazi Germany had invaded the United States, as of 1944 Vermont was controlled by German forces. (ENT: "Storm Front", "Storm Front, Part II")

Pelia lived in Vermont during the 21st and 22nd centuries. She still owned a bunker there in 2259. After travelling back in time to Toronto in 2022, La'An Noonien-Singh and an alternate future version of James T. Kirk traveled to Vermont to seek her help. When Trelane was posing as a wedding planner at Starbase 1, he brought flowers that were supposedly sent by Nurse Christine Chapel's mother in Vermont. They were dead however, but Trelane snapped his fingers and brought them back to life. (SNW: "Wedding Bell Blues")

Vermont was seen on a map of the United States (Die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika). The contours of the state were seen on the map of the United States in "Little Green Men".
