Tau Cygna system

The Tau Cygna system was a planetary system in the de Laure belt. This system was located somewhere in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. It was 5,000 or more light years from Sol.

This was a single star system with Tau Cygna as the primary of this system.

In this system, there were at least five planets, including Tau Cygna V.

In the late 23rd century, the colony ship SS Artemis landed on Tau Cygna V, the only planet in range suitable to do so. The survivors built a colony which lasted for nearly a century. However, under pressure from the Sheliak Corporate, the colonists were relocated to a new home. (TNG: "The Ensigns of Command")

The system map used for Tau Cygna was first used as a map for the Maxia Zeta system ("The Battle") and was used later for the Omicron Theta star system ("Datalore") and the Mira Antlia system. ("Conspiracy")
In the Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets II"), Tau Cygna was located in the Alpha Quadrant.
In the Bayer designation, which was a system of stellar classification, the Greek letter indicated the brightness of a star in a constellation. In this case, Tau Cygna would be the 19th brightest star in its constellation.
