Mira Antlia system

The Mira Antlia system was a planetary system located in a minor quadrant of the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. It was a single star system consisting of the red giant star Mira Antlia and its six planets. The Mira Antlia system was located in a quadrant adjacent to another quadrant that contained Sector 63.

In the 24th century, the fifth planet orbiting Mira Antlia, Dytallix B, was the location of a mining colony. It was one of seven mining colonies established by the Dytallix Mining Company for the United Federation of Planets.

By 2364, the Dytallix Mining Company had abandoned the planet, leaving behind a ghost town. In that year, the starships USS Enterprise-D, USS Horatio, USS Renegade, and USS Thomas Paine rendezvoused at Dytallix B for a secret conference. (TNG: "Conspiracy")

The system map used for the Mira Antlia system was first used as a map for the Maxia Zeta system ("The Battle") and the Omicron Theta star system ("Datalore"). This map would see later use for the Tau Cygna system. ("The Ensigns of Command") In the bridge display okudagram, another name for the fifth planet, Dytallix B, was given as Mira Antlia V.
There was a real constellation called Antlia and a star called Mira (also known as Omicron Ceti), but the two are not connected in any way in the real world.
