Static

Static was background interference on a communications signal, appearing as a crackling sound and/or little white flecks on the screen.

Hoshi Sato asked the crew if they heard a sound, to which Travis Mayweather asked if it was the static. Sato believed that frequency distortions mixed in with the static. (ENT: "Vox Sola")
