Spanish language
The Spanish language was a Human language originating in the Earth region of Spain and spoken by the Spanish. The language was also widely used in North and South America.
History
When Hoshi Sato had difficulties in communicating with an Axanar in his native language in 2151, she told Jonathan Archer that it wasn't just Spanish she was dealing with. (ENT: "Fight or Flight")
Sato began speaking Spanish when she attempted to break the lockout code in the decon chamber in 2154 while under the effects of a silicon-based virus. (ENT: "Observer Effect")
Spanish was among the 94 languages Commander Saru spoke. In 2257, during a malfunction of the universal translator aboard USS Discovery, Commander Michael Burnham's speech was translated into Spanish, which Saru was able to understand and respond in. (DIS: "An Obol for Charon")
The Spanish word "mariposa" translated into English as "butterfly", a fact which Data mentioned in a conversation with Jean-Luc Picard in 2365. (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder")
Crewman Enrique Muniz began speaking Spanish while in a delusional state shortly before his death in 2373. (DS9: "The Ship")
Cristóbal Rios was a fluent speaker of Spanish and sometimes used it with his ship's hologram. (PIC: "Absolute Candor") He also spoke it with Teresa Ramirez and other people at Clinica Las Mariposas in Los Angeles in 2024. (PIC: "Assimilation") After Seven of Nine combined La Sirena's holograms into Emmet, he spoke Spanish to her; she understood but responded in English. (PIC: "The Star Gazer")

Clinica Las Mariposas
Spanish was predominantly spoken at the Clinica Las Mariposas ("The Butterflies Clinic"). Numerous signs were posted throughout that were written in Spanish:

- "Combata la influenza" ("Fight the influenza")
