Soufflé
A soufflé was a type of light and fluffy dessert dish made by various civilizations.
One piece of advice Joseph Sisko had given to his son was that a soufflé would either rise or it wouldn't, but this was outside of the chef's control, so he could as well sit back and wait. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight")
According to Benjamin Sisko in 2371, the secret of a good soufflé was consistency, so one had to be careful not to overwhip it. (DS9: "Equilibrium")
After B'Elanna Torres was separated into a Human and a Klingon person the same year, the Human Torres refused to eat from a rodent the Klingon Torres had killed, which made the Klingon Torres quip that she unfortunately couldn't replicate a soufflè, but Human Torres still needed nourishment. (VOY: "Faces")
