Solarion system

The Solarion system was a formerly inhabited planetary system in a sector of the Alpha Quadrant. Located near the Federation-Cardassian border, this system was the home for a Federation colony on Solarion IV.

There were at least four planets in this system.

History

In 2368, the Cardassians destroyed the colony on Solarion IV in a plot to frame the Bajorans. After receiving an emergency distress signal, the USS Enterprise-D headed to the system but did not arrive in time. The incident bore out a concern by Mister Mott, the Enterprise barber, who believed that colonies should not be placed so close to the Cardassians. (TNG: "Ensign Ro")

This system's quadrant of origin was inferred based on the position of the Cardassian Union in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".
In the script, the pronunciation for Solarion was "soh-LEHR-ee-un". [1]
