A sidecar was a passenger seat that was attached to some motorcycles, such as hovercycles.

In an alternate timeline created by the Temporal Cold War, the BMW R75 was a type of motorcycle with a sidecar during World War II. (ENT: "Storm Front")

In 2381, when Brad Boimler's fantasy of an admiral on a hoverbike recruiting him to help with the Borg was visible on the Scrubble homeworld thanks to the psychic mines, Ensign Beckett Mariner made fun of him for fantasizing about riding in the sidecar rather than the driver's seat.
