Second team

A second team was a sports team that was below the first team in age and skill level.

In 2373, Belle was playing Parrises squares on the first team with older children on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. When she couldn't locate her ion mallet, she feared she'd be demoted to the second team. When her father Kenneth suggested it would teach her a lesson (about putting it away when she was finished with it), she complained that he didn't understand anything.

Kenneth later changed the family schedule, having her play on the second team on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays instead. He felt it was too dangerous for her to play with older kids, but she said that was what made it fun. Later, when he explained that he was trying his best to be a good father, she agreed to play on the second team. (VOY: "Real Life")
