Salvage rights

Salvage rights were one's rights to assume ownership of an item they salvaged.

In 2151, D'Marr claimed his rights of salvage for a Kantare supply ship. (ENT: "Oasis")

In 2373, Benjamin Sisko claimed salvage rights regarding a wrecked Jem'Hadar fighter, a right which he characterized as "an old legal tradition". Despite finding the claim interesting, Kilana explained that the Dominion did not share such a tradition. (DS9: "The Ship")
