Courier
A courier, or runner, was an individual who served as a messenger for various important deliveries.

In the 32nd century, the Mercantile, an Emerald Chain-operated marketplace located at Requiem, Hima, employed couriers for picking up and delivering items. Payment was in the form of dilithium. On their left sleeves, the couriers wore a piece of technology which was used as identification. In the 3180s, Cleveland Booker, Cosmo Traitt, and Zareh worked as couriers. (DIS: "That Hope Is You, Part 1", "Far From Home") Michael Burnham, arriving in 3188 one year ahead of the USS Discovery, worked as a courier out of pragmatism in order to investigate the Burn and find ways to reunite the balkanized Federation, leaving this work behind when she was able to reconnect with Discovery. (DIS: "People of Earth")
Sui were couriers who took the most dangerous jobs because they loved the action and latinum that came with them. They were considered the preferred kind of couriers to call if one had particularly dangerous merchandise. (DIS: "Under the Twin Moons")
Moll worked as a courier in the late 32nd century, trading with the Breen Imperium. Moll sought to make enough latinum to settle on a peaceful colony in the Gamma Quadrant, but her scam of cutting dilithium with impurities nearly led to Moll's death before L'ak saved her. Having fallen in love with Moll and on the run from an erigah, a Breen blood bounty, L'ak joined Moll as her partner. (DIS: "Mirrors")
In 3191, trapped in a damaged Terran warp pod with a severely injured L'ak, Moll broadcast a message on a courier channel of a special offering for courier services, limited time only. In reality, it was a coded SOS with Moll hoping that other couriers would hear it and rescue them. Instead, the USS Locherer picked up Moll's distress call and captured the pair. (DIS: "Erigah")
