Rawda

Rawda was an Areore male who served as village leader in the 24th century, and the son of Kaltorus. Despite being somewhat intimidated by his father's legacy, he was spirited and well respected by his people.

When Peanut Hamper was brought into the village by Kaltorus, Rawda echoed the concerns that many fellow villagers had regarding the machine. He even challenged his father's judgement in calling her a "living being" claiming that machines could not truly be alive. Concerned that his son was challenging his judgement, Kaltorus assigned Rawda to be Peanut Hamper's guide for the village. Rawda was not enthusiastic about the task, but accepted it.

Rawda was easily annoyed at first by Peanut Hamper's attitude, and outlook of their life, however, his demeanor towards her began to change when Peanut Hamper saved Kaltorus from the venomous bite of a sky snake. As Peanut Hamper continued to assist him in various tasks and improve the quality of life around the village, he began to develop romantic feelings towards her. Eventually, he took her to a secluded overlook that he told no one about, and became intimate with her. That same night, he would reveal the secret that the Areore were once a space-faring civilization, but that they abandoned technology and forbade its use due to endless war and suffering.

Peanut Hamper and Rawda continued their relationship, and agreed to be wing-joined in 2381. In the middle of their ceremony, the Drookmani came upon their village. Meeting with Rawda, they told him that they detected the remains of their old Areore ships, and claimed them as salvage. As removing the ships would result in the village's destruction, Rawda refused their claim and attacked the Drookmani. The scavengers quickly beamed away, and engaged tractor beams, ripping the old ships from the ground, and beginning to destroy the village. Peanut Hamper sent out a distress signal, getting the attention of the USS Cerritos. While at first, the situation looked bleak, Peanut Hamper stole the shuttle used by the Drookmani and crashed into their ship, overloading the engines from the inside.

While initially worried that Peanut Hamper did not survive the explosion, he was overjoyed to see her shuttle and Peanut Hamper survive unharmed. Shortly afterward, Captain Carol Freeman, Lieutenant Shaxs, and Ensign D'Vana Tendi beamed down in a rushed first contact. As Peanut Hamper had told Rawda about Starfleet, and her prior actions resulting in her abandoning them, he defended Peanut Hamper, and told Freeman he would not let them take her to a penal colony. Freeman however assured him that Peanut Hamper was not in any trouble, and that they just wanted to thank her. Peanut Hamper, remorseful of her past, then asked Freeman to be brought back into Starfleet. Rawda, not wanting to be apart from her, requested to be allowed to go with her as well, though Peanut Hamper claimed she didn't want to separate him from his "paradise."

At that moment, the Drookmani, having transported from their ship onto one of the surviving Areore ships, managed to power up the ship and attack the village and the Cerritos, quickly overwhelming it with advanced weapon systems. The Drookmani accused Starfleet of deception, claiming that they received an invitation to the salvage from a robot named "Peanut Butter." Peanut Hamper at first tried to deny the the accusations, but when the Drookmani provided audio proof of Peanut Hamper telling them of the salvage, she admitted to staging everything in an attempt to be a hero, and be brought back into Starfleet. She also admitted that she had no interest spending the rest of her "very long robotic life on a frickin' bird planet." This revelation devastated Rawda. Peanut Hamper then left them, ignoring Freeman's infuriated orders for her to stay.

As the Drookmani continued their attack, Rawda made his way to one of the larger Areore ships, and powered it up. Unwilling to let the Drookmani destroy his village, he took the ship into space, and disabled the Drookmani's hijacked ship, saving the Cerritos. Returning to the surface, he declared that the Areore would no longer live in fear of their past, a sentiment his village cheered for. His father, proud of his actions, stepped down, and passed the role of village leader to Rawda. Peanut Hamper would appear again, claiming that she was only trying to get the Areore to work together with technology. Infuriated, and seeing through her blatant lies, Rawda banished her from Areolus, and Starfleet took her into custody when she tried to contact the Borg. (LD: "A Mathematically Perfect Redemption")
