Programming code
Multiple realities
(covers information from several alternate timelines)
Programming code, or simply code, was a collection of computer instructions in written form.
After ending up on the USS Discovery during the Federation-Klingon War of 2256, Michael Burnham's first assigned task was as a data cruncher. She worked to reconcile two suites of code relating to spore drive. Although she struggled with the equations, which she attributed to not being told what she was working on, she found a line that she identified as a mistake. (DIS: "Context Is for Kings")
In the alternate reality, James T. Kirk cheated on the Kobayashi Maru scenario in 2258, by managing to install and activate a subroutine to the programming code, thereby changing the conditions of the test. (Star Trek)
