Poetry reading

Data's poetry reading

A poetry reading was an event dedicated to the public recitation of poetry.

In 2369, Data gave a poetry reading of at least nine of his own poems, including one written about the sunset and Ode to Spot. Among the crew members attending were Geordi La Forge and William T. Riker. Later, Data asked Geordi whether his poetry was boring, as he had noticed several audience members had been distracted during the event. (TNG: "Schisms")

Captain Conklin did a poetry reading at Arkaria Base during the USS Magellan, much to the surprise of Calvin Hutchinson. When he related this to Riker, the first officer tried to imagine the scene. (TNG: "Starship Mine")
