Pawn shop

A pawn shop was an establishment where items could be sold and bought secondhand.

Sherlock Holmes bought his violin at a pawn shop in Tottenham Court Road for fifty five shillings. According to Data, Holmes considered it "a very good investment". (TNG: "Elementary, Dear Data")
