Oxide

An oxide was a chemical compound that contained at least one oxygen atom and one other element in its chemical formula.

While contacting Chakotay, B'Elanna Torres said that the actuators were not working, and Pelk believed that it was probably just the decouplers, and they were always getting encrusted with oxides. (VOY: "Juggernaut")
