Ogbunike Caves

The Ogbunike Caves were a cave system in southeastern Nigeria in Africa on Earth.

By the time she was eight years old, Joann Owosekun had learned to hold her breath for at least ten minutes while freediving in the Ogbunike Caves for abalone. Though she hadn't spoken of it before to close friend Keyla Detmer, she explained to the bridge crew of the USS Discovery in 3189 that it was "as much for tradition as for sustenance."
