Neural, also known as Zeta Boötis, was an inhabited planetary system in the Alpha Quadrant.

Stellar system

This was a trinary star system. The primary star Zeta Boötis A and its companion Zeta Boötis B were A-type stars in a binary star system. Orbiting this system, there was a single star system with the F-type star HIP 71759. (PIC: "Disengage")

Planetary system

The planet Neural was located in the habitable zone of this system. (TOS: "A Private Little War"; PIC: "Disengage")

Stellar cartography

The Neural system was visible from Earth in the constellation Boötes. This system was approximately 176 light years from Sol.

On stardate 1292.4, the location of this system was labeled in a chart used during a Section 31 Alpha Team briefing. (Star Trek: Section 31)

In 3191, this system's location was labeled on a star chart. (DIS: "Red Directive")

This star system was only mentioned in writing.

Information on this system was derived from the episodes, the reference works Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, and real-world sources. The reference works were used extensively in the creation of star charts seen in Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Prodigy, and Star Trek: Lower Decks. The location of this star system was seen on the bridge of the SS Eleos XII on what appears to be an updated chart from Star Trek: Star Charts. Dave Blass published pictures of the set on his website. The planet Neural might be located in this system.
